Vaughn is 8-2 against Sherman Oaks CES since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Vaughn White Tigers will play host again and welcome the Sherman Oaks CES Knights, where tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Hopefully Vaughn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Thursday.
Vaughn suffered their biggest loss since December 28, 2023 on Thursday. They suffered a rough 63-40 defeat at the hands of Northridge Academy. Vaughn found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up nine fewer assists than your opponent.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Mariah Eulloqui, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Cervantes, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Sherman Oaks CES strolled past Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 51-34. The victory was just what Sherman Oaks CES needed coming off of a 72-12 loss in their prior matchup.
Vaughn's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Sherman Oaks CES, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Vaughn came up short against Sherman Oaks CES in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 42-34. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sherman Oaks CES's Neriah Adjei, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds.
