Sadly, the Pottstown Trojans are still looking for their first win of the season after 15 games. They took a 40-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Linville Hill on Monday. While losing is never fun, Pottstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while Linville Hill is ranked 211th).
Linville Hill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Desiree Smucker, who scored 16 points. Smucker is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Courtney Good, who scored 13 points.
Pottstown's defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Linville Hill, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Pottstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Linville Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against High Point Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Linville Hill's defense has only allowed 23 points per game this season, so High Point Baptist Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
