University Prep won the last time they faced Corning and things went their way on Tuesday too. The University Prep Panthers blew past the Corning Cardinals 9-0. Considering the Panthers have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Casey Wrathall made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because University Prep is 2-0-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise. Wrathall was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Jacob Lindell looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because University Prep is 2-0-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

University Prep now has a winning record of 4-3-1. As for Corning, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. University Prep will challenge Fall River at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. University Prep is facing Fall River at the right time seeing as Fall River is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Corning, they will face off against Lincoln at 11:15 a.m. on Friday.
