Del Norte extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-12. They lost 19-1 to the Albuquerque Academy Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 24-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Del Norte saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luis Rodriquez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.
As for Albuquerque Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won nine games by eight runs or more so far this season.
On Albuquerque Academy's side, Aiden Schum made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Schum posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with five runs, three RBI, and one double.
In other pitching news, Parker Hanson looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
Back at the plate, Albuquerque Academy let Jace Gabaldon and Langston Leigh run wild. Gabaldon went a perfect 3-for-3 with seven RBI, one run, and one double, while Leigh went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Gabaldon has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Whitten, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Coincidentally, Del Norte and Albuquerque Academy will both be playing Valley the next time they take the field. The Chargers will head out to face the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
