The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Jordan with a sharp 54-32 win. The win was familiar territory for Long Beach Poly who now have four in a row.
Long Beach Poly was led to victory by Jazmyne Shamburger and Bailey Prewitt. Shamburger scored 13 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Prewitt dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Shamburger hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Jordan's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryanna Moran, who scored nine points. Janiah Lorn was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Long Beach Poly's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.3 points per game. As for Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 18-7.
Long Beach Poly won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. Santiago has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three matchups. As for Jordan, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bruins at 5:30 p.m. Woodrow Wilson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 678th, while the Panthers are ranked 205th).
