Baseball Recap: Lowell Has No Trouble Against Washington

Lowell won the last time they faced Washington and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cardinals blew past the Eagles 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Noah Muchowski, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Reggie Fong was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Muchowski wasn't the only one making solid contact: Lowell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Lowell's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6. As for Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lowell will face off against Oakland Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Washington, they will square off against St. Patrick-St. Vincent at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
