The Silver Creek Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the Overfelt Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Silver Creek has three straight victories, Overfelt has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Silver Creek made easy work of Yerba Buena and carried off a 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won 11 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Cayleb Duran made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Spellman, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Noah Medina was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Overfelt scored first but ultimately less than Mt. Pleasant in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 4-2.
ELIJAH CASTANEDA-AZCUETA was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI. Another player making a difference was BRANDON GONZALEZ, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Silver Creek's record is now 14-4. As for Overfelt, they now have a losing record of 7-8.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Silver Creek has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .537. However, it's not like Overfelt struggles in that department as they've averaged .524. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Silver Creek took their victory against Overfelt in their previous matchup on Friday by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
