After flying high against the Napa Grizzlies last Friday, the Vintage Crushers came back down to earth. Vintage took a serious blow against American Canyon on Tuesday, falling 59-28. Vintage has not had much luck with American Canyon recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
American Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamaya Jones, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jordan Woodson, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Vintage has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for American Canyon, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home.
Vintage will take on Casa Grande at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Casa Grande presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Vintage in California (Casa Grande is ranked 405th, while Vintage is ranked 858th). As for American Canyon, they will head out on the road to square off against Justin-Siena at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Justin-Siena is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
