Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the North Valley Christian Academy Lions, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by the Tigers 58-21 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, North Valley Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while St. David is ranked 39th).
Anissa Jacquez was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds for St. David. Jacquez hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Hart, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for North Valley Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 12-15. As for St. David, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-2.
North Valley Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. David, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Salome at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. David is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
