Given Arvin's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while Mira Monte is ranked 1277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Arvin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Roxana Fernandez, who scored 13 points along with seven assists. Emily Soto was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
The victory (which was Arvin's third in a row) raised their record to 12-9. As for Mira Monte, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Arvin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. As for Mira Monte, they will head out on the road to challenge Foothill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
