Lovejoy is 10-0 against Sherman since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lovejoy Leopards will be staying on the road to face off against the Sherman Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Lovejoy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 698th, while Sherman is ranked 53rd).
Lovejoy's 23-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by Allen on the road and fell 75-47.
Meanwhile, even though North Mesquite scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Sherman still came out on top. Sherman enjoyed a cozy 73-59 victory over North Mesquite. The win was just what Sherman needed coming off of a 58-35 loss in their prior matchup.
Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Sherman, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.
Lovejoy didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Sherman in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 55-51 win. Does Lovejoy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sherman turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
