The Temescal Canyon Titans will venture away from home to take on the Murrieta Mesa Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Temescal Canyon is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
While Temescal Canyon's victory against San Jacinto wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Titans had just enough and edged out the Tigers 7-6 on Thursday.
Jake Padden was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Padden was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Temescal Canyon got a great performance from Julian Gutierrez as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Anthony Deleon, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Nobel, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Murrieta Mesa earned an 8-4 win over Fallbrook on Wednesday.
Carson Kephart looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Alex Goettman was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was JD Nelson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Murrieta Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Temescal Canyon's record is now 8-2. As for Murrieta Mesa, their record now sits at 5-3.
Temescal Canyon's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Titans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Murrieta Mesa, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Temescal Canyon continue to outrun the ball?
Temescal Canyon got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Murrieta Mesa by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
