This season hasn't been kind to the Ralston Rams, who are still winless after their 17th matchup. They were dealt a 56-24 defeat at the hands of Mercy on Tuesday. Ralston was down 40-15 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Mercy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gianna Bayly led the charge by scoring 11 points. Bayly continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Leah Anthofer, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks.
Ralston dropped their record down to 0-17 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Mercy, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.
Ralston will face off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Platteview has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 189 points over their last three games. As for Mercy, they will be playing at home against the Crimson Pride at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
