The Texas-bound star needed only 26 yards rushing going into tonight's game with Pinnacle to be the first running back in Arizona history to rush for more than 2,000 yards in three different seasons. A 54-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter, pushed him over the 2,000-yard mark. He entered the game with 1,974 yards rushing.
He also broke the state career touchdown mark after hauling in an 86-yard pass later in the third quarter that gave Salpointe Catholic a 31-10 lead. That pushed his career rushing TD total to 113, one more than Casey Jahn, of Northwest Christian. The game was still in progress.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder has has put up pinball numbers all season.
He entered the game averaging a ridiculous 22.2 yards per carry (89 carries, 1,974 yards, 36 touchdowns) for the 9-0 Lancers. He also entered with 2,377 all-purpose yards and 39 overall touchdowns.
Regarded as a Top 25 prospect nationally by
247Sports, Robinson is reaching the end zone on just over 40 percent of his carries.
According to stats submitted to MaxPreps, Robinson entered with 6,775 career rushing touchdowns and 101 touchdowns. He's still chasing Jann (7,544 yards) for career rushing leader, but with a deep run, Robinson should be able to get there.
