The Southington Blue Knights will head out on the road to  challenge  the Northwest Catholic Lions at 6:45  p.m.  on Monday. Southington is coming into the  contest hot, having won their last three games.
 Last Friday, Southington slipped by Simsbury  43-42. The  victory was all the more spectacular given Southington's disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings  (they are ranked 29th, while Simsbury is ranked first).
 Southington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Lily Cooper, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on nine points and ten  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bethany Borges, who  scored seven points along with two  blocks.
 Meanwhile,  Northwest Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their  eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Immaculate by a score of  42-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  points Northwest Catholic has scored all season.
 Southington is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record  this season. As for Northwest Catholic, their defeat  ended a four-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 15-4.
 Southington came up short against Northwest Catholic in their previous meeting  back in February of 2023, falling  51-40. Can Southington avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
