Clear Brook proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Kingwood Park Panthers. The win continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

Madison Groves paced Clear Brook's offense, picking up 12 kills. Groves got some help from Josie Hines and her 15 assists. Kenzie Thompson controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Kingwood Park lost, don't look at Ava Etheridge. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and one assist. Etheridge has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Paez, who had ten digs and two aces.

Clear Brook's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Kingwood Park, they moved to 14-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
