Benicia and Miramonte are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. Benicia will be playing at home against Miramonte at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Benicia's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Miramonte has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Benicia will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Vacaville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Benicia put the hurt on Vacaville with a sharp 8-2 win on Friday.

Benicia got a great performance from Dominic Louro as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Louro has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Myles Cooper was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Richardson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
Benicia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Miramonte came up short against Acalanes on Tuesday and fell 9-4.
Gavin Kelleher was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Kelleher was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Those runs were his first of the season.
In other batting news, Casey Yung was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season.
Benicia's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Miramonte, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Miramonte's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Benicia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Miramonte, though, as they've only averaged .144. Will they be able to contain Benicia's hitters?
