Granite Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Delaney Fry led the charge by scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds. Fry continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerstena Tomika, who scored 13 points.
Mater Dei Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Awen Carrillo, who scored nine points along with seven steals. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for her. Otilia Sua was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Granite Hills' win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-3. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
