Having just played yesterday, the Perkiomen Valley Vikings will jump right back in to play the Horizon Hawks at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Perkiomen Valley is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
On Thursday, Perkiomen Valley ended up a good deal behind Gill St. Bernard's and lost 49-33. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Perkiomen Valley has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Perkiomen Valley got a solid performance out of Grace Galbavy, who scored 12 points. The match was Galbavy's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Miley, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Horizon didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Metropolitan on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory. The victory was just what Horizon needed coming off of a 68-46 defeat in their prior match.
Horizon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sienna Astorino, who scored 23 points along with five steals, and Molly Smith, who scored 21 points along with six steals. Astorino hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. Another player making a difference was Emma Andrulouis, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Perkiomen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Horizon, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Perkiomen Valley have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4.8 threes per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 threes per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
