Falcon is on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Elizabeth is on a 16-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Falcons will host the Cardinals at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Falcon made easy work of Sierra and carried off a 17-2 victory. With that win, the Falcons brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Ariana Campbell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Campbell was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Michelle Morales was incredible, firing off three home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeley White, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs.
Falcon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over Lewis-Palmer.
Like Falcon, Elizabeth also got a great game from a two-way player: Aurelia Espinoza. Throwing, Espinoza struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Faith Carlson didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Espinoza has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Espinoza went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Carlson went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Vieyra, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Braelyn Allison was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Falcon's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Elizabeth, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Falcon has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Elizabeth struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Falcon might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Elizabeth when the teams last played on September 11th. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
