Clinch County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Atkinson County as they made off with an 11-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
The team relied heavily on Sophie Corbitt, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Makailey Cobb, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Clinch County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .556. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Telfair County came out on top against Johnson County on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. Telfair County blew past Johnson County 9-1.
Journee Kennedy was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Perry Grace DeLoach was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Clinch County's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Telfair County, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clinch County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Telfair County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clinch County took their victory against Telfair County when the teams last played back in August by a conclusive 14-3 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
