Baseball Recap: Orange Cove's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Orange Cove came tearing into Tuesday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Bears as they made off with an 11-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Adrian Gonzalez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Orange Cove is 11-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Orange Cove got a massive performance out of Armando Martinez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Martinez a new career-high. Josiah Guerra was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Orange Cove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Orange Cove's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

Coming up, Orange Cove is taking a road trip to face off against Shafter at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Generals will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. Summit Charter Collegiate Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
