Given Lowpoint-Washburn's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Blue Ridge is ranked 254th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Lowpoint-Washburn to victory were Kody Knecht and Baylor Steffen. Knecht scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals, while Steffen scored 29 points along with 5 steals. The matchup was Steffen's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bricen Wilson, who scored 8 points.
Lowpoint-Washburn's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Blue Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Lowpoint-Washburn will head out on the road to face off against DePue at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blue Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Donovan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Donovan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
