The Fort Calhoun Pioneers lost to the Tekamah-Herman Tigers back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. Fort Calhoun pulled ahead with a 39-38 photo finish over Tekamah-Herman. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fort Calhoun.
Fort Calhoun's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ansley Elofson led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Elofson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raeann Massey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Fort Calhoun's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Tekamah-Herman, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Fort Calhoun didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-44 victory vs. Raymond Central on the 9th. Tekamah-Herman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
