The Palmyra Cougars entered their tilt with the Mifflin County Huskies with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Palmyra had just enough and edged Mifflin County out 40-37. Given Palmyra's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Mifflin County is ranked 448th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Palmyra was led to victory by Addison Salus and Mya Doster. Salus scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Doster scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Keely Bowers was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Palmyra's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Mifflin County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmyra will take on Red Land at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mifflin County, they will head out on the road to challenge Milton Hershey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
