Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Montgomery Catholic on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Greenville out of the water with a 49-7 final score. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Tigers are ranked 241st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Andalusia better keep an eye on Cj Sankey. He was instrumental in Montgomery Catholic's win, throwing for 291 yards and four touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Sankey's passing game has become a key predictor of the Knights' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Tymori Player also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.
Andalusia's record is now 7-2. As for Montgomery Catholic, their record now sits at 5-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the trenches. Andalusia has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161.9 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Montgomery Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 85.8 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Andalusia was taken down by Montgomery Catholic 38-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
