There's no place like home for the Bucktail Bucks, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 39-30 win over South Williamsport on Friday. This was payback for Bucktail, who suffered a 47-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
South Williamsport's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Akers, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Ella Moore who scored eight points along with four steals. That was a full 60% of South Williamsport's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bucktail has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for South Williamsport, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bucktail will take on Neumann Regional Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neumann Regional Academy will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Bucktail surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Williamsport, they will head out on the road to square off against Line Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully South Williamsport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
