Tiverton lost against East Providence back in February of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tiverton Tigers took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Providence Townies.
Tiverton lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nando D'Eramo, who posted eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of John Mello, who put up seven points.
East Providence can attribute much of their success to Franklin Carela Lopez, who had 18 points. Another player making a difference was Naya Phillip, who earned ten points.
Tiverton now has a losing record at 0-1-1. As for East Providence, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tiverton will take on Chariho in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Providence, they will welcome Westerly at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
