After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tunkhannock, Pittston was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-9 margin over the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Samantha Herbert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Marina Antal was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Lili Hintze was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
