The Lone Grove Longhorns will take on the MacArthur Highlanders at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lone Grove has eight straight victories, MacArthur has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Thursday, Lone Grove narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Guthrie 7-5.
Scout Quinn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Quinn was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tatum Quinn, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zane Hale, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Marlow hit MacArthur with a 11-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Highlanders lost 12-1 to the Outlaws. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Highlanders, who until this game were averaging 3.91 runs allowed.
MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Lone Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2-1.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lone Grove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .517. However, it's not like MacArthur struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lone Grove beat MacArthur 6-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Longhorns repeat their success, or do the Highlanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
