Winston York made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Turlock Christian let Michael Miller and Jakobe Garcia run wild. Miller scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Garcia scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Jake Dein also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
