Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Merritt). They put the hurt on the Vici Indians with a sharp 15-1 win on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Oilers with their most commanding win of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Merritt and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Vici, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Merritt will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mangum at 5:30 p.m. on September 8. The Oilers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Vici, they will face off against Shattuck at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Shattuck's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Vici's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
