Delano is 0-4 against Kennedy since September of 2021 but things could change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. Delano has given up an average of 33 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Delano is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat East Bakersfield 65-33. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Blades: they've now won three in a row.

Delano's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raul Quezada led the charge by picking up 216 receiving yards and three scores. Those 216 receiving yards gave Quezada a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Daniel Romero, who rushed for 136 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries.
Delano was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 233 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Kennedy took on Independence last Friday. The Thunderbirds enjoyed a cozy 21-6 victory over the Falcons.
Delano better keep an eye on Jace Demacabalin. He was instrumental in Kennedy's win, rushing for 257 yards and three touchdowns. Demacabalin is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played.
One reason for the win was Kennedy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anthony Lara.
Delano's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-1.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Delano has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 271.6 passing yards per game. Kennedy, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 265.6 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Delano was taken down by Kennedy 41-13 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Demacabalin, who rushed for 253 yards and four scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Now that the Tigers know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
