Baseball Recap: Riverdale Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Riverdale waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Parlier Panthers. The Cowboys have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

EMMANUEL BOJORQUEZ made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Riverdale is 2-1 when BOJORQUEZ allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-7 otherwise. BOJORQUEZ was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Xaidyn Camacho and CARLOS CABRERA did most of the damage at the plate: Camacho scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while CABRERA went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Camacho has become a key player for Riverdale: the team is 5-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Xadrian Camacho, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Riverdale's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8. As for Parlier, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Riverdale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
