The Saint Ignatius College Prep Wolfpack will challenge the Marmion Cadets at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Saint Ignatius College Prep will be strutting in after a victory while Marmion will be coming in after a defeat.
Saint Ignatius College Prep lost a heartbreaker the last time they played De La Salle, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's matchup. The Wolfpack blew past the Meteors 13-2 on Saturday. Considering the Wolfpack have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Christopher Chittaro looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Mick Crowley and Colin Sims did most of the damage at the plate: Crowley went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Sims went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Those two hits gave Sims a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Kourelis, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Saint Ignatius College Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Marmion was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of Leo by a score of 3-2.
Ethan Burhans was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alec Gilsinn made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Charlie Zebig, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Marmion dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.5 runs. As for Saint Ignatius College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Saint Ignatius College Prep got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 against Marmion by a conclusive 7-1 score. Will the Wolfpack repeat their success, or do the Cadets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
