The North Valley Christian Academy Lions were the 39-36 winner over the San Pasqual Valley Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. North Valley Christian Academy fell to the Warriors 39-33.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Pasqual Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daeja Villicana, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Villicana has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was AB Ruiz, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
North Valley Christian Academy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. As for San Pasqual Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Valley Christian Academy will face off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. David presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Lions in Arizona (the Tigers are ranked 38th, while the Lions are ranked 231st). As for San Pasqual Valley, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Frogs at 3:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Salome will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak alive.
