Pinecrest Academy is still undefeated this season after their matchup against Cornerstone Prep Academy on Tuesday, but Cornerstone Prep Academy came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Pinecrest Academy Paladins had just enough and edged out Cornerstone Prep Academy 7-5. The seven-run effort marked the Paladins' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Mateo Snyder was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Matthew Mitchell also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pinecrest Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

Pinecrest Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest Academy will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Lakeview Academy at 4:30 p.m. One thing working in Lakeview Academy's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they will head out to challenge Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Johnson Ferry Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.6 runs per game on average), something Cornerstone Prep Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of.
