Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hickory

If Sharon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Hickory, they should've done a better job of containing Kimora Roberts. The Hickory Hornets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Sharon Tigers 48-45 thanks in part to Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Zamyra Smith was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games.

The victory was the third in a row for Hickory, bringing their record for this year to 7-10. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Sharon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Hickory will head out on the road to challenge Grove City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grove City will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hickory surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sharon, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Slippery Rock at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
