Hardaway won the last time they faced Sumter County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks blew past the Panthers 16-1. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 13 matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

A'Nazhe Purnell made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Purnell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-1. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

In other batting news, Dante Hill was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. Hardaway is undefeated when Hill posts two or more stolen bases, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kevin Williams, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Hardaway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .808. They are 11-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory was the third in a row for Hardaway, bringing their record up to 15-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sumter County, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Coming up, Hardaway will look to defend their home field on Friday against Spencer at 5:30 p.m. The timing is sure in the Hawks' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Greenwave have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Sumter County, they will head out to challenge Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
