Princeville and Wethersfield are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Princeville Princes will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Wethersfield Flying Geese at 12:00 p.m. on February 13th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Princeville pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fieldcrest. While losing is never fun, Princeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Fieldcrest is ranked 35th).
Wethersfield won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] on the road and fell 66-34. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wethersfield has scored all season.
Princeville's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Wethersfield, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Princeville against Wethersfield in their previous meeting last Thursday as the squad secured a 71-38 victory. Does Princeville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wethersfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
