On Friday, Twelve Bridges suffered a tough 72-47 defeat at the hands of Granite Bay. While losing is never fun, Twelve Bridges can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 568th, while Granite Bay is ranked 263rd).
Twelve Bridges lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaida Esparza, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Esparza has scored all season. Mia DeMatteis was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Twelve Bridges' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Granite Bay, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Twelve Bridges will take on Placer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granite Bay, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Roseville at 7:00 p.m.
