The South Tahoe Vikings can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent match on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 58-14 win over Truckee on the road. With South Tahoe ahead 33-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
South Tahoe was led to victory by Addie Menke and Campbell Mathews. Menke dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds, while Mathews dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Menke has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Diaz, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
South Tahoe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Truckee, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Tahoe will take on Sparks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Tahoe is facing Sparks at the right time seeing as Sparks is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Truckee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hug at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Truckee is ranked 79th in California, while Hug is ranked 89th in Nevada).
