This season hasn't been kind to Friends Select, who are still winless after their sixth game. They were dealt a 52-10 defeat at the hands of George School on Saturday. Friends Select has not had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
It was another big night for Gianna Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds for George School. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Martinez, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Friends Select dropped their record down to 0-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for George School, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.
Friends Select does not have any more games scheduled as of now. George School will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Barrack Hebrew Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 434th, while the Cougars are ranked 155th).
