Chico took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past the Durham Trojans 54-30. The Panthers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since January 14th (when they won 61-35).
Chico's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Corrina Stephens, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelan Payne, who posted five points and seven steals.
Chico smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chico will challenge Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on December 2. As for Durham, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Quincy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
