The Lower Brule Sioux lost against the Omaha Nation Chiefs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Lower Brule took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chiefs. Lower Brule has not had much luck with the Chiefs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Omaha Nation's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mikkel Parker led the charge by scoring 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Desma Walker, who scored 11 points.
Lower Brule's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Omaha Nation, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-9.
Lower Brule is on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Chieftains at 3:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Crow Creek is ranked 90th, while the Sioux are ranked 106th). As for Omaha Nation, they and the Eagles will face off on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
