Pierce is on a three-game streak of home losses, Paradise a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Pierce Bears will take on the Paradise Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Pierce will be strutting in after a victory while Paradise will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Pierce strolled past Live Oak with points to spare, taking the game 44-26. The victory was just what Pierce needed coming off of a 51-24 defeat in their prior matchup.
Pierce's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Letzy Ambriz led the charge by scoring 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ambriz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Leah Charter, who scored ten points.
Paradise suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They suffered a tough 57-33 loss at the hands of Willows.
Pierce's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Paradise, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Pierce didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Paradise when the teams last played two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 40-34 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Paradise's Nyah Baker, who scored 22 points. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Pierce still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
