Baseball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Fremont's Winning Streak

Fremont dropped their record down to 20-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Mountain View Spartans by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Firebirds have suffered since April 20, 2024.

As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 16-11. They haven't had any issues with Fremont recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

For Mountain View's part, Brennan Dooley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. Dooley also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Spartans are 8-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Kyle Shachal was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Luke Orrock was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

As of now, neither Fremont nor Mountain View have any future games scheduled.
