On Saturday, it was a hard-fought game, but University City had to settle for a 45-43 loss against Helix.
University City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kianna LeFear, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaela Martinez, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
University City's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Helix, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
University City and Wilson will face off at 1:30 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Helix's road trip will continue as they head out to face Olympian at 2:00 p.m. on December 27th. Olympian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Helix in California (Olympian is ranked 238th, while Helix is ranked 496th).
