Meanwhile, River Valley waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 38-30 victory over Homer-Center. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points River Valley has scored all year.
Ava Persichetti was her usual excellent self, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of River Valley's points. Kenady Kitner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for River Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Purchase Line was dealt a bruising 69-31 defeat at the hands of River Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Persichetti, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
