Baseball Recap: Classical Academy Wins Going Away Against Ridgeview

There's no place like home for Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Ridgeview Wolf Pack with a sharp 12-2 win on Monday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Caimans this season.

Aidan Suitor made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Suitor was even better at the plate, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Classical Academy let Vaughn Rink and Westin Michals run wild. Rink went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Michals scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Michals is becoming a predictor of Classical Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Sammy McNemar, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Classical Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with five home runs. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgeview, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Classical Academy will head out to take on Eastlake at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Caimans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ridgeview, they will head out on the road to face off against Montgomery at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
